Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in Strawberry

Hi Friends,

this post is about Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in Strawberry. In the past I have been very tempted to buy more from this range but the price stops me. I am usually very careful with what I spend on makeup.

So anyways, this is:

  • A pretty, strawberry pink lipgloss with lots of shimmer and bling to it. I really like it so far.
  • It has a bit of a berry taste and smell to it which is pleasant.
  • It has super-smooth application and no issues with bleeding.
  • Lasting power - tough to say. If you are good and don't meddle with your lips too much I can say the colour lasts for a couple of hours and the overall product stays for ~4 hours.
  • It leaves behind tiny particular shimmers on your lip even when you eat up the gloss, like I do.
  • Nice applicator, total amt of product = 5.9ml)
  • Price: Rs. 500 (or 550, I can't remember)
A little pricey but worth it! Here are some pics!

And this is just me messing around with Paint, lol :)

So I hope you enjoyed this post and do try to get one of these glosses in your stash if you don't already one! Until next time, tata and thanks for stopping by!

A look with Sugarpill's Poison plum

Hi everyone!

This is a look using my newly acquired e/s from Sugarpill Cosmetics, Poison Plum. I'm going to throw in a mini-review as well. But I don't think I can come up with anything that has not already been said about this product so I am going to do this review a little differently. :)

Starting with some basics about this e/s

  • Sugarpill describes it as "Dramatic purple with semi-pearly sheen" I completely agree. Dramatic is a great way to describe this purple.
  • Price: $11.99 = Rs. 608 without taxes, shipping etc. So it's around what we in India pay for a single e/s pan from MAC.
  • So what else can I say about this product? Blends well, easy to apply, no noticeable fallout....
  • Oh yes, one more thing, it leaves behind a faint stain on skin after removal, so that should give you an idea of how it performs in the pigmentation department.
Pictures:
PACKAGING etc. :)

SWATCH

Here is a look I did with the eyeshadow which I reallllly like.
I used:

  • NYX jumbo eye pencil in MILK as base, on lower lash line.
  • Sugarpill's Poison Plum on lid
  • MUG e/s in Mango Tango to blend out above the crease
  • MUG e/s in Cinderella as highlight
  • MAC Fluidline, Blacktrack
  • Maybelline mascara, Great Lash

The colour on my lids is how the colour actually swatches on skin. It's a little more intense in the pan. But this is a colour that can be built up or really sheer-ed out if that makes sense. All in all, I am happy to have finally caved in and bought it.

So I hope you like the review and the look, do leave your comments and suggestions. Until next time, tata and thank you for stopping by!

Yellow and blue!

Hi Folks,

As the weather turns warmer, I want to start moving away from dark coloured looks and do some light and fun summery looks. So this is the first of the summer looks that I am going to do. Hope you enjoy!

I used:

  • MAC Painterly Paint Pot as a base.
  • NYX Jumbo eye pencil in Milk as a second base.
  • MUG e/s in Cinderella & Taupe Notch in crease.
  • NYX Jumbo eye pencil in yellow in the first half of my lid, and baby blue in the outer half of my lid.
  • Inglot e/s in AMC 60 and MAC e/s in Sky Blue.
Hope you like it :) Here are some pics.

My new acquisition - MUG eyeshadows!

Hello Everyone!

Sorry again for the lack of posts, I am finally getting back to blogging and I have lots to share with you all. The first post for this year is going to be about the latest addition to my makeup collection.

In the past I have spoken about www.makeupgeek.com every now and then. They have an online store and I order products from them from time to time. This year, they had an offer for 20% off during a few days in March and of course I took advantage of that opportunity. :) They have recently released their own line of eyeshadows at somewhat affordable price and I ended up ordering 6 of them among other things. So this post is going to be a  review of the eye-shadows and a couple of looks I came up with!

So here's the long and short of these eye-shadows:

-The e/s come in individual pans only so no plastic packaging and no palette packaging.
-They have around 50 colours and retail for $5.99 = 300.646 rupees (the same price as Inglot e/s)
-The actual e/s that I ordered are:

  • Corrupt: The blackest JET black e/s I have ever seen in my life! One swipe packs such a punch of black that you don't need a black base to use the e/s. It is a matte finish and the first black e/s in my collection.
  • Vanilla Bean: This is an off white, creamy colour. It's one of those really nice e/s that just blends into your skin and looks very natural. It's a nice highlight shade for me. It has a matte finish but it's got a bit of dimension in terms of a subtle sheen to it.
  • Cinderella: This is a pretty pink colour with just a touch of shimmer. It's nothing spectacular but a nice enough colour.
  • Stealth: A very nice, matte finish basic gray colour. I don't have any gray e/s so this is just great for me. It works very well in the crease!
  • Taupe Notch: This browny-taupe colour is again a beautiful colour which blends away to give a beautiful shimmery - pale- brown effect on the lids.
  • Mango Tango: My favorite of the lot, this is a fun coral-red-brick colour if that makes any sense! It's got this subtle gold shimmer which makes it a very unique colour.
My overall thoughts on these e/s:
--I think they are pretty good quality e/s.
--The price point is pretty nice for us living in India where a single MAC pan retails for more than double the price. There is a good mix of mattes and other finishes.
-- I think the colours are quite exciting too.
--If you want the colour to come through, then they need to "packed" onto the eyelid, otherwise they are awesome for blending.
--Of the 6 that I purchased, I would recommend Corrupt, Vanilla Bean, Stealth and Mango Tango. The other two e/s are nice but they are not entirely unique shades.

Here are some pics of the actual products and packaging and of course a couple of looks that I came up with! (Warning: I just could not get a good pic of the swatches, I hope you can get a good idea of the colours from all the photos and not just the one with swatches. My apologies for the bad pic of the swatches.)

LOOK WITH MUG MANGO TANGO AND TAUPE NOTCH

THE COLOURS ARE MORE NOTICEABLE HERE.

So those are all the pics associated with these MUG eyeshadows. The smokey eye was done using only MAC Painterly paint pot as base so you can see how dark the eyeshadows are. The second look was done using Mango Tango on the lid and Taupe Notch in the crease.

So I hope you enjoyed this little review of Makeupgeek eye-shadows! I hope to order some more in the future and have fun playing around with them!

Do leave your comments, thoughts and suggestions in the comments below! Until next time, thanks and tata!
